We are excited to announce this weekend, May 28th-29th, the Talent Hounds crew will begin filming the follow-up to our award nominated pilot for the Backseat Barkers Comedy Series.
Mom, Dad and the step-fur-kids – take their first road trip together across Ontario visiting pet-friendly hotels and places. Millennials Jess and Hugh are caught up in romantic bliss and the joy of travel with their blended family. However, we get to laugh at the very different opinions of the dogs in the “backseat”.
The Backseat Barkers are kicking off their road trip in style with a stay at the pet-friendly and fabulous Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
While Hugh is stuck at a dentistry conference on Sunday, Jess will be enjoying the hotel with Fishstick the Pug and her Border Collie. She’ll take the two dogs to visit the mega dog-lover event Woofstock. She’ll be stopping by PugALug Pug Rescue, the Pug Races, the Lure Course, the #nobiteisright presentation by Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund and various other events and booths.
The Fairmont Royal York Hotel
We checked out Toronto’s pet-friendly hotels and chose the historic 5-star Fairmont Royal York right in the heart of the city to film at.
The Fairmont Royal York is a luxury hotel that often sleeps celebrities visiting Toronto including canines like the King of Pop Culture, Doug The Pug. It’s the perfect fit for Fishstick’s Rescue to Royalty story.
It’s located directly across from Union Station and is just steps away from the city’s most famous sites and attractions, including Purina PawsWay, The Waterfront, The CN Tower, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, Air Canada Centre, Rogers Centre, the Eaton Centre, and the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts.
We can’t wait to indulge in the culinary creations of the hotel’s Executive Chef’s award-winning team. I know Fishstick can’t wait to order some pay-per-view and room service. He’ll be hoping for a Pizza and a Pajama Party with a special local lady he likes.
There are six dining establishments for humans to choose from with seasonal, hand-nurtured herbs grown right on the rooftop garden.
What’s even sweeter is the honey bee apiary that provides delicious honey to brighten each dish. My husband loves bees and is a huge advocate, so that sealed the deal on our hotel choice.
There is even a shuttle to take guests to Woofstock right outside the door. It’s going to be a great stay for those visiting the city and going to the event.
Stop by Toronto Woofstock this weekend and say hi:
