Dandie Dinmont Show

A show dedicated to the Dandie Dinmont Terrier. Despite their rarity (there are less than 250 Dandies in Canada and fewer than 3,000 world-wide), sixty dogs will be on display at Purina PawsWay.

This event will also feature Highland dancing and the Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club of Canada’s famous “cuddling parlour.”

Have your dog (or cat!) photographed to enter the competition to find the 2014 Purina PawsWay Pet Star.

Your pet’s photo will be displayed onsite at PawsWay and online to be voted on by the public. The winner will receive the prestigious 2014 Pet Star title and a fabulous gift basket!

The Hamilton-Burlington SPCA is hosting their annual Wiggle Waggle Walk & Splash. Join the fun for a scenic 5km walk followed by a Doggie Pool Party at Wild Waterworks!

Men, women, children and their “best friend” come together as a team to conquer 8-10 unique, challenging, fun and BADASS canine specific obstacles that will be sprawled across a 5K-7K course.

Enjoy the POST-RACE FESTIVAL which will host racers and canines alike, vendors and spectators in a festival atmosphere with the inclusion of live entertainment, a pet expo area, a beer garden, food & beverages, an awards ceremony, contests and prize giveaways.

With over 4,500 people and their dogs attending the first year, that we outgrew our venue! We expect 12,000 – 15,000 people to attend this year’s, two-day festival at our new, larger location.

This year we are having a combined event, the 2014 “Barkfest Dog Festival & Harvest Fall Food Fair”.  This beautiful 100 acre country property is the perfect venue for foodies, families and canine companions. With great pet-related vendors, dog-sport demos, and contests,

Barkfest is THE place to bring your canines, come to play, shop and spend the day having fun! You may have your animal blessed in honour of St. Francis of Assisi. We also have fundraising for COPE Service Dogs and are promoting various dog adoption organizations. The OPP and their canines will be performing tactical demos too. The Harvest Fall Food Fair has crafts, artisans, and plenty of great food to eat.
