Talent Hounds Roundup of 2017’s Westminster Dog Show Winners:
I was so disappointed that my flights from Toronto got canceled because of huge snow storms and then I had a health issue so I did not attend The 141st annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in NYC as planned.
More than 3,000 dogs and 200+ breeds from across the US competed for titles in seven breed groups, and of course for the coveted “Best in Show” title over 2 days (February 13th and 14th).

Hound Group Winner
Norwegian Elkhound:
GCH. CH. Vin-Melca’s Daggarwood Delight,“Duffy,” owned by Patrica V Trotter.
Toy Group Winner
A Pekingese beat out all the adorable toys:
GCHB CH. Pequest Pickwick, AKA “Chuckie,” owned by David Fitzpatrick.
Sporting Group Winner
and Reserve Winner of Best in Show.
Irish Setter:
GCH. CH. Vermilion’s Sea Breeze, “Adrian,” owned by Sandra Nordstrom, Bruce and Mary Foote.
Non-Sporting Group Winner
Miniature Poodle:
GCHB CH. Danfour Avalon As If, “Aftin,” owned by Daniel Chavez, James Moses, & Janet Moses.
Working Group Winner
Boxer:
GCH. CH. Mephisto’s Speak Of The Devil, “Devlin,” owned by Mrs. Jack Billhardt and Sergio Tenenbaum.
Terrier Group Winner
Norwich Terrier:
GCHS. CH. Taliesin Twice As Nice, “Tanner,” owned by Lisa Sons.
Herding Group Winner and 2017 Best in Show
German Shepherd:
The Herding Group Winner in 2016, GCH. CH. Lockenhaus’ Rumor Has It V Kenlyn,“Rumor,” owned by Deborah Stern, Pamela Buckles, Patti Dukeman, Pam McElheney and Kent Boyles takes the big “Best In Show” title this year as well as the Herding Group win.
Fun fact- he is rumored to be named after Adele’s song which I love.
