Getting ready for the BlogPaws 2015 Conference in #Nashville
Kilo the Pug and I were just going through our own check list for our first BlogPaws 2015 and saw a helpful post from conference ambassador Melissa Clinton of Barking from the Bayou with some reminders, a really cute picture and a fun trailer. We are joining her Hop.
I realized we needed to sign up for certain sessions, one-on-ones and lunches. Unfortunately I was too late for some, but I am really looking forward to learning more about SEO and Content Marketing. I have a good base but the goal posts keep moving, so should be interesting.
Today, I also remembered that I need to order more Talent Hounds business cards from Vistaprint (great value, easy, convenient and better quality than my local printer).
Plus I have been checking my wardrobe and pulling out sandals, capris and dresses. I may need to get some new Talent Hounds t-shirts as I think I gave them all away at Canadian Pet Expo. I’ll definitely need a mani/pedi, as my toes have been hidden most of winter.
I just saw a cute Pin by Aimee at Irresistible Pets of conference must haves. Also a post from Oh My Shih Tzu which reminded me about bug spray and sun screen. Who else has tips to share?
I am looking forward to seeing some of the friends I met at Barkworld and at Global Pet Expo : Amy from Petguide and Amy Shojai, Sugar Goldenwoofs, Felissa, Oz the Terrier K9 Carry All , Beagles and Bargains, Emmy Sits, Pepper Pom, Carma Poodale, Life With Beagle , Chloe DiVita , Sandy, Dana and To Dog With Love .
We have been feverishly participating in Blog Hops and Boost groups, liking, following, commenting and sharing so we can get to know as many blogs as possible before the event.
Plus I am looking forward to meeting more people and dogs I know online like Melissa Clinton Barking from the Bayou, SlimDoggy, Groovy Goldendoodles, Keep the Tail Wagging, Fidose of Reality , Tripawds, My Dog Likes, It’s Dog or Nothing Atka and Mauja, Dog Mom Days – Wynston AKC, Chihuahua, MyGBGVLife Emma, DOGthusiast: for dog enthusiasts, Irresistible Pets Dolly the Doxie, The Daily Pip, Oh My Shih Tzu Riley, The Chestnut Mutts, Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Dogs, Steve Dale, Tales and Tails, Robbie Hess, Spencer, two Newfies, You Did What With Your Weiner, Ruff Talk, Larry Kay Positively Woof, Dog Bone Marketing , Mia, Veteran Traveller, Dog Tipper and cool cats, Coco the Couture Cat and Stunning Keisha .
Love to know who else is going? Let me know if I have missed you. Happy to add links here and a photo (we all benefit from links).
I’m very excited as I find there is nothing like putting a face to a name in person. It was really funny when Talent Hounds (Susie ie me) met Sugar’s Mom over lunch – took us a while to clue in. Hoping there will be lots of opportunities for growth and collaboration.
I’ll be researching the brands going and seeing if any share my values or interests. We have some new web and TV projects coming up to pitch. I’ll also update my media package.
I am also working on a children’s picture book series “Paco the Pug”, so I’ll be interested in publishing and marketing tips.
Unfortunately I think the flight and social setting would be too much for Kilo the Rescue Pug. He is getting better every day, but is still much more comfortable at home with familiar people. I’ll have to take Flat Kilo and fluffy versions. I’ll be checking out the post How to Make A Flat Pet later today.

I really wanted to go, but financially couldn’t swing it this year. I’ve started a little savings fund for next year though and plan to be there!

Wish you were. I was lucky I had saved a little for tv promotion- still a stretch but hopefully worth it. XS

It will great to see you again! I am awe of workshop topics and opportunities for meeting brands. And I’ve just winnowed out clothes to bring and hate them all! Happens every year. See you next week.
