International Assistance Dog Week (IADW)

IADW recognizes all the devoted, hardworking assistance dogs helping individuals mitigate their disability related limitations.
Bean and Baker Malt Shop Fundraiser

Benefiting: Homeward Bound Rescue
Bring your family along for this fun-filled event for a longboard competition,face painting,balloon-animals, cotton candy, hot dogs, a RAFFLE and a 50/50 draw! Lots of prizes to be won so come on down! Help Bean and Baker and co-sponsors, Longboard Haven, raise money for Homeward Bound Rescue, a volunteer-run foster-home based rescue in Ontario.
2015 Dog’s Day of Summer at the St. Catharines Museum

Pets and their people are invited to join in the fun and excitement of our annual Dog’s Day of Summer at the St. Catharines Museum & Welland Canals Centre.
Visit all the pet-related vendors, information booths and rescue groups; get a reading from Dog Psychic Charlotte Szivak; watch and learn during the Dave (the Dog Man) McMahon’s Dog Training Academy performance; take a run on a lure course; and get a great deal at the Silent Auction. Also on site will be a charity BBQ operated by Sweet Surrender, a division of Daval Hospice, and the Itty Bitty Pie Company food truck. Enter the fun contests, including Stupid Pet Tricks, Wiggliest Tail, and Superhero/Sci-fi Costume.
Pet Loss Support Group
11:30am to 1:00pm

If you have experienced the loss of your pet or are anticipating the loss of your pet, know that you are not alone in the grief that you are feeling. The purpose of this group is to create a safe and supportive environment where everyone’s grief matters. Participants will have an opportunity to express their loss and share memories of their companions. The group meets the first Saturday of each month.

There’s something for everyone with specialty vendors, silent auctions, pony rides, exotic parrots, a pet-ucation center, adoption corner, charity contests and much more. Friendly dogs are welcome to bring their responsible owners.
Feeding Pets of Homeless Week
August 9-15, 2015
Pets of the Homeless is the only national animal organization focused completely on feeding and providing emergency veterinary care to pets of the homeless.
EndurRun Challenge – Support Sean Tamkin!
ENDURrun: 8 Days, 7 Stages, 160 km, 1 Tough Runner. Rarely does an event challenge you beyond your running goals and dreams. This is the running challenge of a lifetime!
Just as The ENDURrun can be a personal journey of determination and willpower, a runner’s fundraising efforts for the 2015 EndurRun can go towards a charity with personal meaning or significance.

Pawlooza

Pawlooza is the ultimate dog party! It’s a festival for dogs and animal lovers! Join an estimated 25,000 people and 6,000 dogs for Canada’s most unique and dog-friendly festival experience.
Pawlooza is a 100% volunteer-driven festival. Thousands of hours are put into the festival by the Organizing Committee and 300 volunteers. All are working on behalf of two local non-profits – [ARF Ontario – working with First Nations and rural communities throughout Ontario to rescue, rehab and re-home stray dogs and cats, and LEADS Employment Services – helping people with disabilities throughout Southwestern Ontario find employment and receive skills training].
ISAR’S International Homeless Animals’ Day® (IHAD)

The first Homeless Animals’ Day and Candlelight Vigils were a beginning. The International Society for Animal Rights (ISAR) is solemnly dedicated to keeping the issue of dog and cat overpopulation before the public until victory is achieved and humane societies can return to their purpose of preventing suffering instead of being exhausted by ceaseless killing.
International Homeless Animals’ Day (IHAD) Candlelight Vigil
God’s Dogs Rescue is committed to helping solve the problem by spaying/neutering and raising awareness.
They will be hosting a candlelight vigil at Pet’s Barn at 16045 and Blanco “to shed light on pet overpopulation and the spay/neuter solution.”

Toronto Humane Society Adoption Weekend @ PawsWay

Admission: Free admission, adoption fees required
Pawsway is teaming up with the Toronto Humane Society for a two day pet adoption event. Adoption agents will be onsite all day Saturday and Sunday to match families with their purr-fect pets.
Bonus: all adopted animals will be sent to their new forever homes with a FREE adoption kit including lots of Purina goodies!
Canine Good Neighbour Evaluation
1:00 pm to 4:00 pm -final evaluation begins at 3:30pm
Admission: $25+hst
The Canine Good Neighbour (CGN) program identifies and rewards responsible, caring owners and their canine partners. This twelve-step evaluation is fun, rewarding and useful. Successful participants receive a certificate from the Canadian Kennel Club.
This event is drop-in, but please note that the final evaluation begins at 3:30pm.
PawsWay’s Monthly Movie Matinee

Paws In The Park

Benefiting: Toronto Humane Society
WALK: Raise money by collecting pledges from your colleagues, friends, family and fellow animal lovers. Then join us on Sunday August 23 at Woodbine Park as we walk the scenic trail through Ashbridge’s Bay Park to raise awareness about homeless animals in our community and the services provided by the Toronto Humane Society.
Enjoy: Free and extraordinarily delicious food for all participants, a special live performance by a band making a splash across Canada and the United States,interactive canine performances including our pals Sara and Hero and other talented pups , primping for your pooch, a world class magician, celebrity guests, shopping in our Vendor Village, face painting and so much more!

National Dog Day

The family dog is not only welcome, they are celebrated! Saturday is an all day BARKday Party! Come out and celebrate YOUR DOG’s birthday! Sunday is a special day with a real live DOGGIE Wedding! Free cake!
The first 200 people each day receive a great Swag (Doggie) Bag filled with lots of goodies, coupons from vendors, freebies, and samples.
