Home Is Where The Heart Is
On International Homeless Animals’ Day
We love dogs and celebrate the amazing bond we have with them at Talent Hounds. We believe a home is not a home without a dog.
Sadly, too many dogs are still looking for homes. This past weekend was ISAR’s (International Society For Animal Rights) International Homeless Animals’ Day (IHAD) which began in 1992. IHAD brings people all over the world together on the third Saturday in August to shed light on pet overpopulation and the spay/neuter solution.
By now, IHAD events have been celebrated in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, in over 50 countries and on 6 continents, saving millions of animals’ lives. #InternationalHomelessAnim
Today’s Dog of the Day is Felix.
Felix was found in June, 2012, living in a ditch in Texas. He had no fur, scabs all over his back, his tail had been chopped off, his eye poked out and he was starving. Thanks to SNARR he is now living the good life up in Chicago, happy and healthy in his forever home.

While filming our “Rescues Rock” TV episode we met several dogs just like Felix of Felix and Friends, who have overcome so many hardships. Despite their difficult past, these dogs are not jaded. They live happy lives in loving homes and bring joy to people they meet.

In the states it was Clear the Shelters this weekend with many shelters letting folks adopt with no fee. Heard it was a big success. Lots of pets got new homes!
