Spring is finally in the air. The sun is shining and the flowers are popping up so it is time for new beginnings.
To help you start some fresh activities with your dog, we are hosting a giveaway of The Big Book of Tricks for the Best Dog Ever, a brilliant dog training book co-written by my talented friends author, trainer, fellow film-maker and passionate rescue advocate Larry Kay of Positively Woof and top trainer, rescue advocate and amazing performer Chris Perondi.

Speaking of spring, don’t forget that it is flea and tick season. Be sure to check these tick and flea tips here, and don’t forget to schedule a check-in with your vet.
While we may be able to get outside a little more, many of us are still not back to our normal lives and are probably going a little crazy with the COVID crisis and all the awful news. One of the things I do to keep Kilo the Pug and I happy is do trick training. I find it is a great way to bond and play. For our post and video showing 20 easy tricks you can teach your dog featuring Kilo the Pug Click HERE.
“Trick training is best when it’s rewarding and fun. Positive reinforcement dog training means that we praise and reward our dog’s efforts and progress, while ignoring most mistakes. Positive dog training can help make a dog more sociable and builds our bond. Positive trick training builds a dog’s self-confidence and reveals the inner “movie star” within every dog.” Larry.

Kilo and I are currently working on roll over, take a bow, look shy, boing boing, weaving, dancing, jump over my arm and a few others. We do 5 minutes at a time, usually twice a day and only at home for our own enjoyment, although he does like the extra rewards if we film.
You can see how I taught Kilo “paw” and all the other associated paw tricks here.

We have this guide and it’s great. Super fast and easy to follow! The only reason Louie hasn’t mastered many of the tricks is my own laziness.

Kilo will soon be a smart little boy doing lots of tricks, cannot wait to see a video. I have not taught Layla tricks and with age at the moment I do not think she would remember them either LOL. The book sounds amazing though and good luck to the person that wins it.

I entered, I’d love to win even though the furballs I’m training are feline not canine. We’re definitely at the beginners level though.
Rebecca Sanchez says
Oh man, do we need this! We hired a trainer and it didn’t work so well – our concept of fear free training was vastly different then hers…. Wish us luck!
Talent Hounds says
Yes – I have seen that so often. Kilo has been a challenge but lots of love and treats and lots of trick training have really made a big difference. All the best! Larry is in LA so maybe say hi.

This is such a great giveaway! I definitely entered (and subscribed because I love your content). I find that I’m focusing even more on different fun training option during this whole lockdown time as a way to help pass the time!

Kilo looks like he is having a great time learning all of these new tricks! I know a few dog owners who might really benefit from a book like the one you are giving away. My mother has 4 dogs at her house. I’m entered to win. 🙂

This sounds like a great book! My dogs only know a few tricks, but I’ve always thought it would be fun to teach them a lot of tricks!
Happyoodles says
We believe that teaching a dog new tricks is a great way to keep them entertained, bond with them and also provide mental stimulation for your dog. Therefore we are always on the lookout for easy to use dog trick training books and websites. Thanks for the review and recommendation.

If I were to win the book, I’d give it to my sister who has two Australian Shepherds. They love to do new things.,
