One of the things that impressed us the most at Global Pet Expo was the trend of brands and bloggers giving back.

The need to help homeless, abused/neglected dogs find loving homes has always been a passion for Carol Bryant of Fidose of Realty.  Anyone who knows Carol, knows “her heart beats dog”. She is a true dog lover. Two years ago she founded, with her partner Darlene, a fundraising arm of her blog called the Wigglebutt Warriors to help save the lives of dogs in need. You just have to take a look at her adorable Pup Dex to see where the name came from. To date, they have raised over $50 thousand dollars through charity initiatives. She comes up with really creative ideas for people to get together, have fun and support. Last year she threw a wedding for her dog at her now annual event!

We met with Carol at the Global Pet Expo where we talked about her upcoming 2-day affair fundraiser, Wigglebutts Uncorked in New York on April 16th.  This amazing dog-friendly event will be held at America’s Oldest Winery: Brotherhood, in Washingtonville, New York and will be a black tie gala. They’ll be rolling out the red carpet and Andrea Arden, of Animal Planet fame, is the official celebrity emcee.

I can’t wait to attend the sold out charity event benefiting the NYC Second Chance Rescue and will be driving down. She is empowering all her attendees, sponsors and readers to make a difference.

NYC Second Chance Rescue

A volunteer and foster home-based group that rescues Pitbulls and works to change the stigma around the breed. This helps these homeless dogs have a fighting chance at finding their forever homes.

Second Chance Rescue is always in need of volunteer help as well as funding like many Rescue Organizations and Shelters. Some areas we can all help with include:

• Process Applications
• Foster
• Transport
• Attend adoption events/fundraisers
• Dog Walking

How Can You Support Rescue Dogs?

Although the event was so popular there aren’t tickets left, you can still show your support by donating to the rescue. Carol is asking for a donation of at least 1 dollar -not even the price of a coffee- to be donated. All funds raised will help buy food, help fund medical bills, and even go towards housing costs for the rescue.
