Birthday Cupcakes For Puppies:
Yummy Banana, Carrot and Coconut Pupcake Recipe
Kilo the Pug’s Birthday and Gotcha Day are coming up August 4th. We will be celebrating this weekend so I wanted to bake and test more healthy tasty Birthday Pupcakes for him. He loves banana and carrots and I had some in the fridge. I also had some rolled oats and shredded coconut so I created the following recipe.
Ingredients
3 heaped table spoons of rolled oats
2 table spoons of grated carrot (I grated 4 large baby carrots)
3 heaped table spoons of shredded coconut
1/2 banana
1 egg
1 table spoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon of smooth peanut butter
Recipe Directions
- Pre-heat oven to 375′
- Put all ingredients into blender and blend until thoroughly mixed- I left a few small chunks of banana
- Pour and spoon mix, which is a thick goopy liquid, into a baking tray- the mixture made 4 (I rubbed a teeny bit of olive oil in each hole to stop sticking but not sure it made a difference)
- Bake for 25- 30 minutes or until firm and light golden brown on top
I left them to cool in the tray then popped the 4 Pupcakes or Puppy Cupcakes out onto a plate in paper cups (I scooped under them with a spoon and they came out nicely). They actually look and smell like little banana muffins.
If you wish to add icing, mix a spoonful of smooth peanut butter and a spoonful of natural Greek Yoghurt (Kilo licked the spoon as he practised dancing and “sit pretty”).
I only added icing on one as Kilo does not need any extra Kilos, then I decorated with kibble pieces (not chocolate chips of course as toxic). I also purchased one with special hundreds and thousands from my local Pet Store to try.
Kilo waited while I took the photo, looking longingly at his loot. The cakes smelled so good.
Then we both tried one without icing to start. OMD, they were delicious. My daughter shared a bite of mine – they are gluten free. We all approved!
They also make tasty treats for training. I broke up a third one later in the day as Kilo practised different behaviours and tricks and gave him about half in total. He was very happy.
Happy Tasty Tuesday.

They look delicious. I don’t think I could keep the humans away from them long enough to feed the dogs.
That was our problem. Ange, Soph, Kilo, my hubby and I all loved them.
My sisters and I go ape for bananas. These sound great!
Really quick and easy, and so delicious. Thanks for stopping by.
