Proud of Pride Week Toronto
This has been Pride Week. Pride Week is a ten-day event held in Toronto, Canada, during the end of June each year. It is a celebration of the diversity of the LGBT community. There have been hundreds of events and activities all week. It is one of the largest organized gay pride festivals in the world, featuring several stages with live performers and DJs, several licensed venues, a large Dyke March, a Trans March and the Pride Parade. Today is the day of the big annual Pride Toronto Parade. Thousands of people are participating in spite of the horrible rainy windy weather.
Kilo the Pug is Black & White with his rainbow tie in support. We’ll be watching live streams from the couch.
This week we are also celebrating a big victory for the gay rights movement in the US. The Supreme Court ruled by a 5-4 vote that the Constitution guarantees a right to same-sex-marriage. #lovewins- everyone deserves the right to be happy.
All the beautiful rainbows brighten up a grey rainy day.
