The WoofJocks Canine All Stars @ PawsWay
See The WoofJocks, a team of professional dog trainers and, of course, their very talented dogs, in a fun 30-minute, variety-type show that’s both educational and entertaining.

DogLoversDays is a fun filled family day with your dog! A day when you can relax and watch YOUR dog be the star. A complete interactive “dog” festival where the family dog has fun running agility and speed tracks and much more. If it’s called a dog festival, it should be “all about the dog”. Your dog can have a ball running a lure course, get the star treatment in the Pamper Zone, have some fun in the Doggie Play Zone, or visit a Holistic Healer at the Health and Wellness Centre. Of course, for the adults, there are numerous vendors and lots to see.

This is the one you wait for all year… Wiener-Paw-Looza!! An annual picnic in support of the Canadian Dachshund Rescue.

Held in the beautiful Kawartha Lakes region, Camp Doggin’ It is an annual weekend retreat for you and your dog! They offer a fully catered mini vacation that includes training in selected dog sports, games, fun matches, demos and lots of prizes to be won. Our instructors are all specially selected for their positive, rewards based training methods – ensuring a fun and motivating camp experience. Our class structure lets you test the waters with various activities with your dog.

Bring your dog for a swim in the outdoor pool for $5 per dog, watch exciting shows from the Ultimate Air Dogs of Canada and the High Flying Canines and visit all of the pet-related vendors to shop everything for your furry friend! With a Kids Zone and food vendors as well, there’s something fun for everyone.
Pet Loss Support Group

If you have experienced the loss of your animal or are anticipating the loss of your animal, know that you are not alone in the grief that you are feeling. The purpose of this group is to create a safe and supportive environment where everyone’s grief matters. Participants will have an opportunity to express their loss and share memories of their companions.
Puppy Kindergarten
Saturdays from September 12 to October 3 (11am-12pm) Puppy Kindergarten is a fun and interactive way to introduce puppies and owners to basic training. Starting early with fun and rewarding positive motivational training helps teach the behavior we want before bad habits have a chance to form. For puppies 8 weeks to 6 months old.

Benefiting: The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides
This family-friendly Haute Dog event lets you dress up your dogs for a red carpet walk and win great prizes including hotel stays and dinner cruises. In addition to dogs’ fashion show, the occasion features dog shows by Purina PawsWay, a question and answer session with a vet on the health and well-being of dogs and more. This is also a chance to meet dog trainers and guides from Lions Foundation of Canada which provides free dog guides to people with disabilities. A Sobey’s stall will offer refreshments with proceeds supporting The Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.

National Pet Memorial Day

PetTech Pet First Aid & CPR Certification Class

Flying Duchess Inc is hosting another certification for Pet First Aid & CPR. We be teaching the 5-hour CPR & First Aid For Your Pets class to dedicated pet parents and Pet Care Professionals. Attendees will learn the ABC’s of pet first aid, CPR for dogs and cats, rescue breathing, choking management, bleeding protocols, poisoning, restraint, muzzling, heat injuries, injury assessment, and much more. All of our classes include hands-on instruction and are taught in a fun, entertaining and educational way. The entire Flying Duchess team is dedicated to the health, safety, care and welfare of all pets.
PetTech is the first international training centre dedicated to CPR, First Aid & Care for dogs and cats. It is really a must have certification for any pet professional including dog trainers, groomers, and especially pet sitters and borders and Pet Parents, and is now available locally here in Toronto.
Pet Star 2015

Have your dog (or cat) professionally photographed to enter the competition to find the 2015 Purina PawsWay Pet Star. Your pet’s photo will be displayed at PawsWay and online to be voted on by the public. The winner will receive the prestigious 2015 Pet Star title and a fabulous gift basket! The contest is free to enter, but there is a fee per photo print.

St. John Ambulance Pet First Aid
This one-day course takes place the third Saturday of every month and is taught by certified First Aid instructors. It provides you with the knowledge, judgment, and skills needed to respond safely and effectively in an emergency situation.

Barkfest Dog Festival and Harvest Fall Food Fair

Located in THORNTON, near Barrie, in rural South Simcoe County, “Barkfest Dog Festival & Harvest Fall Food Fair” is a combined event that offers a unique Ontario destination where farmers, foodies, and families with dogs can participate in a fun-filled weekend outing.
2015 will be the Festival’s third year. Our new venue, the Essa Agriplex, offers plenty of green space, open-aired ‘barns’ and loads of parking. With the slogan, “Eat Healthy / Eat Fresh / Eat Local”, the 2015 Harvest Fall Food Fair will feature Ontario wines, craft beers and Ontario cheese exhibitors, food & drink samplings, educational displays, cooking demonstrations, live music, local artisans, a Farmer’s Market Village, three types of “Ontario Goat Cheese Cake” contests, “Organic Week” celebrations, and more! Barkfest’s canine activities include sporting dog demos, animal blessings and contests like “King & Queen of Barkfest”, “The Best Dog Bark”, and, “The Best Canine Costume”. Watch the OPP Canine Unit perform tactical demonstrations, and there is plenty of shopping to do among a wide variety of local pet-friendly vendors.
4th Annual Smiling Blue Skies Walk to End Canine Cancer

Lets walk the Walk to fight the Fight together! Come join us for an amazing day at the beach. Bring your canine companion for a stroll along the boardwalk and raise funds for a great cause. Fun for all ages, fantastic silent auction items and more! Get the kids involved by collecting loose change for our Mooseketeer Kids Club and a chance to win a great prize.
Every penny helps our beloved companions. 100% of all funds will be donated to the treatment and research of canine cancer through The Smiling Blue Skies Cancer Fund, OVC Pet Trust at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph.
