Pet Loss Support Group

If you have experienced the loss of your animal or are anticipating the loss of your animal, know that you are not alone in the grief that you are feeling. The purpose of this group is to create a safe and supportive environment where everyone’s grief matters. Participants will have an opportunity to express their loss and share memories of their companions. The group meets the first Saturday of each month.

Fall Canadian Pet Expo, Classic Dog Show & The Canadian Reptile Breeders’ Expo

The CPE Classic Dog Show will be running alongside the CPE from Sept 9-11, with hundreds of North Americas top dogs vying for “best in” classes at Canada’s newest and most prestigious dog show with $20,000 in cash and prizes! This is an amazing opportunity to see all types of pet products, services and support companies, pets, exotics and supplies along with their pets! Don’t forget to bring the entire family, its a pet weekend so this includes the family pets.

Dandie Dinmont
Come on down to PawsWay to check out this spectacular dog show! This is a championship dog show devoted to the unique Dandie Dinmont Terrier breed. Despite their rarity (there are less than 250 Dandies in Canada), sixty dogs will be on display at Purina PawsWay! This event will also feature Highland dancing, a dog parade, and Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club of Canada’s famous “cuddling parlour”. Don’t miss the fun!
1st Annual Nutrience Furry Friends 5K

SPCA’s Annual Wiggle Waggle Walk

After a 5-kilometer stroll along the lake starting at the Edgewater Pavilion, this fan favorite charity event will end at Confederation Beach Park, with a doggie beach party and amazing contests, prizes, family friendly activities, vegetarian food trucks, and tons of happy, wet dogs.
Wiggle Waggle Walkers can either sign-up as individuals or form a “pack” to fundraise as a team. Registration and pledge forms can be found at https://hbspca.com. All pledge funds go directly to the support of mistreated and homeless animals in the Hamilton/Burlington area. Remember – simple steps save shelter pets!
K9 Manners Level One
Our new session for our 4 week Manners program will resume on September 14th! This 4-week course is designed to teach your canine companion basic manners and obedience skills such as heeling with a loose leash, sit, down, stay, come and recall. All skills will be taught using positive reinforcement. Each class includes the opportunity to ask our expert trainer questions, and the curriculum is flexible to ensure all teams are successful. Puppy Kindergarten
Let’s walk! Join us on our weekly summer strolls through Toronto #funwithpets With this program we want to encourage a healthy and fun way for pets to interact with each other and humans alike, while exploring our beautiful city. Advance registration is not required and all are welcome including pets, their owners and pet lovers! Why not join us? Expert walks with special guest hosts will occur on the last Thursday of every month. Topics will range from grooming to nutrition to veterinary care and more! Camp Doggin’ It is a weekend retreat for you and your dog. We offer a fully catered mini vacation that includes training in selected dog sports, games, fun matches, demos and lots of prizes to be won. Our class structure introduces you to various activities with your dog. Come out and support animals in need by joining our 2nd Annual 5k Walk with your friends, family, and of course, your furry friends! Together with Animals Asia and Rescue Angels, Peace Fur Paws is holding this great community fundraising event to help raise funds for animals in need. All the funds will be forwarded to cat rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing, improving the welfare of cats and dogs in Asia and helping to end bear bile farming. Once you have decided to join our very exciting 5K Walk, simply register online and you will be emailed your personalized fundraising webpage so that you can start fundraising and collecting donations online!

Smiling Blue Skies Walk to End Canine Cancer

This is an on-leash walk along the boardwalk from Kew Gardens to Ashbridges and back, approx. 4 k. There will be a silent auction after the walk. 100% of all proceeds got the OVC Pet Trust Fund to benefit research and treatment for companion animals through the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph. To date, the Toronto Walk has raised over $140,000. The National total since 2001 is over $1.6 million dollars. Please join us in a celebration of life and hope. There is no minimum donation.
