To kick off BlogPaws‘ National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, we’d like to celebrate by giving thanks to all the shelters helping animals.
Kilo the Pug is my foster failure from Homeward Bound Rescue. Each day I’m grateful to have him in my life and I’m sure he’s happy for the second chance. This weekend we attended another wonderful rescue’s event the annual Pugoween fundraiser for PugALug Pug Rescue at Purina Pawsway.
Pugalug Pug Rescue is a dog rescue organization that helps bridge to gap between a pug’s past life and its future forever home. The group of volunteers are committed to helping these rescued pugs by providing medical care, fostering and a forever home. They are an amazing group who work hard fighting for pugs in need. They also happen to throw fun parties to help raise money and awareness, and to celebrate the pug dog breed.
The turn out was good and all the pugs seemed to get along, even Kilo! The pugs were all pretty sociable and friendly, running around sniffing, and chasing each other.
I loved seeing all of their costumes, there were tons of clever get-ups that must have made judging the costume contest hard. For the humans attending, there was a great raffle and a dog nail trimming station to pamper your pooch. Overall a great event!
Don’t miss PugALugs next event PugClaus on Dec. 6th and Pugentine Feb.7th!
