Two of the thing I like best about the BlogPaws Conference are the people you see and that you get to make a difference. I had a major fan girl moment there last week. I got to meet the amazing Eldad Hagar from Hope for Paws who is a rescue and content creator hero I have been following for many years, and Lisa Arturo who works with him. I am subscribed to their YouTube Channel and regularly watch their uplifting videos (see some below).
Eldad was one of the inspirations behind my Talent Hounds Rescues Rock series that highlights that rescues can be saved and make wonderful pets. I love the rescue work he does and the way he shows the transformations possible for dogs in desperate need. His videos are gritty and real and show the dogs in awful situations but they always have a happy ending and great music.
How Simply Watching Videos and Subscribing Can Help.
I know some people find “before” part of the videos hard to watch, but I find the Hope For Paws videos very engaging and highly recommend them. I love the fact that just by watching and sharing the videos, I can do a little to help. People can learn about the rescue work and donate or even expand the reach of Eldad’s mission by using his methodology to save more animals in need.
Talking to Eldad, you can feel his passion, drive and dedication. He doesn’t own a home or a car, he lives simply, and he goes above and beyond rescuing dogs in need 24/7.
“I have the best job ever. I get to save lives and witness miracles every day. At any one time, there are over 30,000 dogs living on the street in Los Angeles. I want to fix that. You can help.” Eldad told us.
Hope for Paws survives on donations. The only barrier to saving more dogs is money for vet bills, gas, food and other necessities.

With our win for Best Pet Video at BlogPaws for our “Love Like A Dog” video below, we were able to make a US$500 donation to Hope for Paws (thanks BlogPaws!). We’d like to do more. We will donate 10 cents for every new Talent Hounds YouTube channel subscriber we receive during a 2 month promotion period from May 25th to July 25th 2017 up to $1000. We will also donate 100% of the YouTube ad revenue earned on this video and from our award winning video “Love Like a Dog” for the promotion period to Hope for Paws. All you have to give is a few minutes (although you can always make your own donation directly too).
About Hope For Paws
Hope for Paws is a 501 C-3 non-profit animal rescue organization, based in Los Angeles, California (E.I.N: 26-2869386). They rescue dogs and all other animals who are suffering on the streets and in shelters. They foster these animals in their own homes, cage free, until they can find them permanent, loving families.

Eldad, Lisa and Loreta got a call from neighbors who tried to help but the dog kept running away. They drove 3.5 hours through a horrendous rainstorm to save the Mom and Puppies.
The Book “Our Lives Have Gone To The Dogs” Second Edition
Audrey and Eldad Hagar never imagined that when they began photographing the hundreds of fostered dogs (and other creatures) who came through their home, that they would actually create a book. They just wanted to remember the animals they had shared great memories with. Then, their friends and family encouraged them to get the word out to educate the public about animal abuse and neglect and furthermore, to inspire others to adopt, rescue, and foster animals in need.
Soon after the Hagar’s created Hope for Paws animal rescue, an inspired donor graciously funded the printing of the book so that all donations to Hope for Paws and the money earned from the sales of the book would go directly to helping animals. Several hundred copies of both the first and second edition have been donated to women’s and children’s hospitals, and senior living facilities throughout the U.S. by both Hope for Paws as well as generous donors.

I struggle to watch these at times. How can humans do this to animals. As much as I love that people rescue them and these end well I can’t help feel desperately sad that there are so many that will never be. Ugh. Humans are both amazing and also totally suck. I’ll tweet this.

I’m going to be honest and say that these videos are hard to watch. They are necessary though to show people just how much these animals need our help, and inform the public of the important of this work by Hope for Paws. It’s a wonderful program and they are truly heroic human beings.
What I love about them is the transformation from desperate to such happy endings. Hopefully by watching and sharing our 2 videos, we can all donate $1000 more and make a difference. Thanks!
These are very moving vidoes and these animals are the lucky ones. A worthy cause but it makes me think about how these animals ended up in this state.

First, let me congratulation you on your Nose-to-Nose award! You definitely deserve it. Some of these videos are really hard to watch. I do like that there are happy endings, but it’s still hard. Thank you for the work you are doing with the videos.
I loved seeing their videos at the conference, how much care they put into rescuing dogs and cats in need. I see way too many videos of pet abuse, it’s so refreshing to see those that are doing good for those in need! Gave a donation to Hope for Paws when I got home from conference, and have subscribed to your YouTube channel.
They really are so hard to watch. It always amazes me though when I see them rescued, then they do a flash forward and you get to see how well the pet is doing now. Ill definitely share!
