Things are looking busy for the next few months for Canadian dog lovers. Here is a round up of June-September 2019 Canadian Pet Events (mainly Ontario as that’s where we live).
June 15 – 16, 2019 – Niagara Pet Expo, Niagara Falls
Scotia Bank Convention Centre, 6815 Stanley Avenue, Niagara Falls, Ontario.
The Niagara Pet Expo is back for a second year and we ran a giveaway for family passes. Some new events include the CPE Small Animal Village – Parade of Breeds – CPE Disc Competition – Weight Pull – Breeders Village – Reptiles on Display –and their largest Bird presence ever. Just a few of the celebrity guests include our pals Dozer the Pig, Canadian Bros, Ryder the Samoyed, The Furry Beauties and more.
We were planning to go but unfortunately the son of a friend passed away last week so we will be attending the funeral on Saturday, then going to a Father’s Day Lunch Sunday.
June 15, 2019 – Raise the Woof, Sharon

Raise the Woof Beamer’s ultimate dog party events include agility, rally obedience, silent auction, photo booth, vendor row and good canine testing.
June 15, 2019 – Poochie Power Walk, Cambridge
10 am to 2 pm. Riverside Park, King Street, Cambridge, Ontario.
The annual Poochie Power Walk and Family Fun Day benefits the Cambridge Humane Society. We visited them and dropped off donations when they were dealing with a large hoarding case 2 years ago. Gather some pledges then you and your dog can join the fun – raffles, vendors, food trucks and Team K9 choreographed show of agility and obedience.
June 22, 2019 – Wienerfest, Woodstock, Ontario www.wienerfest.ca
We love Wienerfest Home County Festival and have been several times. It is a celebration of all things dog and dachshund and raises funds for Tiny Paws Rescue. We love seeing little rescue Blue and his family and friends. Wienerfest Home County Festival is Canada’s largest breed specific event, focused on Dachshunds. It’s a free family and dog-friendly event (all breeds welcome). This year’s ambassador is Cynder, a 6 yr old Miniature Dachshund weighing only 7 pounds. She is a lean ween, trickster machine! Cynder is an agility wizard and currently knows over 100 behaviors and tricks. There will be the hilarious Dachshund Races, as well as costume contests, and professional photo opportunities with the “wienermobile.”
June 20, 2019 Doggie Day of Mirrors
Harbourfront 12pm-3pm
House of Mirrors is a reality-bending, sensory-altering, mind-dizzying experience that has enchanted audiences across the southern hemisphere. Sitting at over 12.5ft and weighing in at over 55 tonnes, this reflective wonder makes its North American debut, taking Toronto by storm, simultaneously mesmerizing, disorienting and delighting Luminato audiences. Dogs are allowed this day.
June 22, 2019 – Homeward Bound Canine Carnival, Bowmanville www.homewardboundrescue.ca

The annual Canine Carnival supports Kilo the Pug’s Rescue Homeward Bound so come and say hello and support squishy face dogs in need. There will be Dock Diving, Lure Coursing, K9 fit workouts, Agility Demonstrations, weight pulling, an Annual Doggie Fashion Show and Costume Contest and lots of vendors.

June 22 to 23, 2019 – 3rd annual Ruff Mudder, Collingwood
6725 Hwy 26, Stayner.
The 3rd Annual Ruff Mudder Canine Obstacle Adventure 5km obstacle course for you and your dog is on again. That’s right, you can run a 5k with your dog over 80+ obstacles through forest and field. Then chill out at the Doga Class and do yoga with your dog. This year, they hope to set a Guinness World Book of Records for the largest doga class. $60 per person for Mudder, 4 for $120 and a pack of 10 is $500. Participating in Doga at 1 pm is free.
June 22 to 23, 2019 – SouthPaws Pet Expo, Lemmington www.southpawspetexpo.ca
10 am to 5 pm at the Roma Club of Lemmington, 19 Seacliff Drive, Lemmington, Ontario.
The first annual SouthPaws Pet Expo includes vendors of all pet varieties – furry, feathered, scaled and even hoofed. Pets are permitted at the expo and shows include dog agility, dog tricks and costume contests.

Vineland Estates Winery 3620 Moyer Road, Vineland and Featherstone Estate Winery, 3678 Victoria Ave., Vineland.
The Muddy Paws event involves a beautiful 15-mintue walk along the Bruce Trail through the Niagara Forest from winery to winery- sounds Pawfect to me. Start at either winery, walk the trail to the other with your well-behaved leashed dog and enjoy a glass of wine at each end, along with music, food sampling, NRP K9 Unit, and obedience training demos by Dave McHahon’s Dog Academy. 12 to 5pm. Tickets are $20 plus tax.
Now July 13 and 14, 2019 – Dog Lovers Days Festival, Kitchener http://www.dogloversdays.com

We attended several years in February and had a blast. However we are happy to avoid bad winter weather now the event will be in July. Bring your dog to the dog festival and enjoy 50,000 square feet of indoor space including a doggie play zone and Aqua Dogs Dock Diving demonstration. Dog Lovers Days offers two very popular interactive lure courses as well as fashion Shows, Contests, Vendors and tons of fun for you and your dog. 10 am to 4 pm both days. Admission is free thanks to generous sponsorship by Nutram.

Dog Fest Muskoka is being held in Ontario’s cottage country for the first time this year and we can’t wait. Entertainment at this outdoor event will include the Dog Lovers Days lure course, Aqua Dogs Dock Diving, RuffSports and more.
July 21 and 20, 2019, Dog Days of Scugog, Port Perry Museum
The Scugog Shores Museum Village, 16210 Island Rd., Port Perry.
The 16th annual Dog Days of Scugog, Durham’s largest dog event taking place at the museum from 9 am to 4 pm. Enter contests, let your dog try an agility course, meet breeders and rescue organizations. Check out WoofJocks Canine All-Stars, Disc Dogs, Sporting Detection Dog demonstrations, and Scugog Disc Dog races. Admission is $7.

Promoted as Essex County’s only pet and family-friendly festival, Woofa Roo Pet Fest has Dock Diving, Flex Ball, dog agility, pony rides, vendors and more. A silent auction supports local rescue organizations. Admission is only $5.
July 20 and 21, 2019 – Woof-a-Palooza/Doga, Vaughn
10 am to 4 pm, Vaughn, Ontario.
City of Vaughan’s Premiere Dog Festival Woof-a-Palooza is fun for you and your dog. Contests and Prizes include The Pup’A’Razzi Fashion Show at 12 pm and The Dogs of Vaughan Got Talent Contest 2 pm. Registration the day of the event. Vendors and free doggie swag bags – limited quantities so arrive early. Doga sessions 11 am and 2 pm.

This fundraiser for Dog Rescue takes place inside a race track and Greyhound owners can resister their dogs for a fun run or enter any other breed for additional races organized by size. Otherwise, enjoy the festival and barbeque – advanced tickets are recommended. Pets are welcome but no retractable leashes. A silent auction and live art auction are also planned.

We love this event. It was where we gave out 50 boxes of Bullwrinkles Treats to 50 Rescue organizations and met so many amazing rescue dogs including Blue, who was rescued from a garbage bin. It’s the ultimate dog party… a festival for dogs and animal lovers! Join an estimated 25,000 people and 6,000 dogs for Canada’s most unique and dog-friendly festival experience! There isn’t a better place to spoil your dog!
Pawlooza takes place on International Homeless Animals’ Day and raises money for a local animal shelter. Take your dog dock diving, go swimming in the pond, watch agility or test your dog’s agility, run the lure course, go offleash in the FunZone, play frisbee in our toss+catch zone, get trick and obedience advice, visit the VIP loung, shop from 175 vendors. Sunday September 8, 2019 – Bark & Splash, London Benefits the London Humane Society.

Bark & Splash is back on Sunday at East Park water park presented by Artcal. The park’s wave pool is transformed in the city’s largest dog pool. Purchase timed tickets for 30- minute sessions for $10 in advance. Noon to 12:30 is for small dogs only, others 12:45 to 3:30 pm. Waves are not activated in the pool and people are not allowed in the water.
September 7 and 8, 2019 – New Bark’et Dog Festival, New Market

An annual family-friendly dog festival. Bring your dog for a swim in the Gorman Outdoor Pool ($5 per dog). Also, there’s a dock diving show, Dog Lovers Days Lure Course, kids zone and 75 pet-themed vendors.
