Enter to Win A Kurgo Dog Harness!
Keep Your Dog Safe This Fall
Welcome to a great group giveaway that we’re co-hosting with DogTipper! Along with some other super blogs, we’re giving away a dog harness in the winner’s choice of styles from Kurgo. This is such a cool giveaway for all the cool talented dogs in the Talent Hounds Community. You all go to competitions, events, and expos, or off on therapy visits and adventures. Maybe you need a new dog car harness or how about one to hold a GoPro?
I confess, I nearly did not host this giveaway as I really want a new Kurgo car harness. I had even approached Kurgo to test one when we were planning our trips up to cottage country a few weeks ago. In the end, Kilo did not make the trips so I delayed. I am planning to buy one next week. I’d also like one for a GoPro when I get a GoPro.
Dog harnesses are the ideal way to secure a leash (or seat belt) on your dog with less risk of damaging your dog’s neck or trachea from a sudden pull. Kilo the Pug likes his blue harness I got when I started fostering him a year ago and he wears it every day (I only take it off when he goes to bed in his crate at night). He is quite comfortable and safe while on a leash and it gives me some control handling him. He does not wear a collar as his trachea is already a bit dodgy I suspect. He is not very obedient and will suddenly lunge and pull like a bandit or try to slip a collar.
He loves going for short car rides and I attach his harness to the seat belt. I want to spread the pressure if we stop suddenly and make sure the harness is strong enough to hold. I need a new one. I read that the Kurgo Car harnesses have been crash-tested and perform well in cars, as well as on the street, so I thought they would be perfect for Kilo.
Kurgo Crash-Tested Dog Car Harness (source:https://www.kurgo.com/harnesses/tru-fit-enhanced-strength-harness-3055-series/)
This crash-tested dog car harness keeps your pup safe while driving. It has been designed as a dog safety harness, not a converted walking harness. The all-steel Nesting Buckle System is based on the engineering for harnesses used by rock climbers and linesmen ensuring strength and safety.
With five adjustments points, it’s easy to get a near custom fit for any dog, regardless of size and proportions. The chest pad reduces stress on the trachea and sternum while dispersing kinetic energy across the chest of the dog. This is important during those rare, but dangerous impact crashes.
Because it’s designed with comfort in mind, our Enhanced Strength Tru-Fit Harness can also be used as a no-pull walking harness. There’s a halt ring on the front chest plate. If your pup tries to pull, it will just turn him around effectively training him that pulling will get him nowhere!

What an awesome giveaway. I just entered. Now I want to get these Kurgo Dog Harnesses for Beatrice and Florence even if we don’t win the giveaway. Having read your article, I love the protection it offers for riding in cars combined with the fact that the harness also works as a no pull harness for walks.

Great giveaway. I’d love to win one for my mom’s dog, who tends to pull himself out of the traditional harnesses.

Heard a lot about these harnesses, and they are supposed to be good, but we don’t need one we already have our own. Good luck to those who enter.

We have had small #furkids and so we always use a harness for walking, hiking etc. We also have a car seat with harness and I absolutely love they make one to attach a GoPro to!

My pup could use a better harness. The one she has annoys her to no end.

Before I knew dog harnesses existed, my poor shihtzu would go flying when I pulled on the leash to correct him. Now, he doesn’t go flying. Fantastic!

We have one of the Kurgo harnesses–it’s great! Barley only wears it in the car, but I think it would be great for walking dogs, too. It’s the one harness that we’ve found that has enough points to adjust it to really fit her weirdly shaped body.
Spencer the Goldendoodle says

I would like my dog to wear a harness on a walk! He pulls so much that it looks like the poor guy is choking himself so a harness would do wonders to prevent that!
Lindsey says
My bullmastiff weighs almost as much as I do…so a harness is nessesary for walks and for car rides.

Harnesses Dog is a great way to explore the world with your dog – without the risk of damage to your dogs neck or trachea from a sudden pull . Great for dogs who slip out of their collar , halter also help prevent the chain complex .
