Happy Hound By: Susan Daffron
This book is especially for owners of dogs and puppies adopted from animal shelters. It gives new owners the information they need to know to raise a wonderful family pet.
Quote From Susan: “”There’s an old adage in writing that says you should write the book you want to read. Over the years, I have run across only a few novels that show the sometimes hilarious dynamics that can occur between people and their pets. I always say that I write books with a little bit of humor and a whole lot of fur. Because let’s face it, dogs and cats can be really funny!”

Bark and Lunge: Saving My Dog From Training Mistakes By: Kari Neumeyer
How do you make sure the dog you love never bites anyone (again)? Kari is a friend from various blog hops and her devotion to animals is very inspiring, particularly for me with Kilo the Pug.
“My boyfriend Rob and I made a lot of mistakes with our first dog, a German shepherd named Isis. We were completely madly in love with her and thought we were doing all the things you’re supposed to do with a puppy, but we failed all our obedience classes and she was badly behaved on walks. I struggled with how to fix her problem behaviour, like pulling on the leash, and barking and lunging at other dogs. I would have taken such comfort in a book like mine if one had existed. My hope is that Isis’s story can help other dog owners going through what we went through.I wanted to spread the word that old-fashioned training techniques like chain collars are not necessary, and can even be damaging to reactive, fearful, or aggressive dogs. I wanted to advocate for force-free training methods. I wrote the book so people who have reactive dogs would be able to find answers more easily than I did. I wanted them to feel understood, and to know there are others going through the same thing. While the story resonates most with people who have challenging dogs, I think it also taps into a pretty universal feeling of wanting to help our babies (animal and human) live their best lives, how disappointed we are when they fail, how excited when they succeed, and how devastating it is when we lose them too soon.”

The Returns Series By: M.K. Clinton
We met Melissa through BlogPaws and became friends online. We finally met in person at the BlogPaws 2015 conference. She is a great writer with a wonderful sense of humor. She has written 2 fictional books about dogs so far. “The Returns was inspired by my Basset Hound Bentley and his number seven on his hip. As I was pondering a storyline, I visualized him as a former FBI Agent #7 that was returned to earth in the body of a Basset Hound. He finds himself in New Orleans with three other “Returns” and a bumbling guardian angel.
Rescue Me, Maybe By: Jackie Bouchard
We met Jackie online and now follow her blog and stories each week. She is warm and kind with a great sense of humor.
“As a life-long dog lover (our family beagle, Barney, and I were “puppies” together), I take inspiration from all the dogs in my life for my books. I’ve been inspired by the dogs my husband and I have owned and loved, by our family’s dogs, by dog stories that I see in the news, and even by an episode of Emergency Vet! I like to say that my novels are “Fido-friendly fiction”, stories about women and the dogs they love, and how those dogs teach them to be better people. A love story inspired by both of Jackie’s angels, Bailey and Abby. Rescue Me, Maybe is a story of loss, love and self-discovery, while dealing with loss.

What a fantastic round up of books! I would love to enter but being all the way down here in Australia, I’m not eligible. I would really like to read The Power of Pets. Healing from the loss of a pet can be so difficult not only because of what they mean to us, but also because sometimes society is not that accepting or understanding of the depth of grief we can feel over ‘just an animal’.
Talent Hounds says
Thanks so much Jo. I am from Sydney LOL. You can enter for that one as I am happy to mail it to you. Her video in the main post has already helped several friends of mine with losses.
Robin says

Great giveaway. We didn’t sign up for any of them because Mom Paula only has time to listen to audiobooks. She said to give her two more years when she retires and she’ll start reading for pleasure again.
