I feel Kilo’s love when he looks into my eyes every day, many times a day. I think we both get a positive rush. I see it in his excitement when he first sees me in the morning or when I come home, or even after he has been napping beside me. His affection and devotion as he follows me like velcro around the house or on our walks.

His love is not entirely unconditional. He demands treats and attention, but he gives attention right back.

We have seen many examples of selfless, loving, loyal dogs in our community, including this week’s inductees into the 2015 Purina Animal Hall of Fame, several of whom put their own lives at risk to save their humans.

We would also include the service dogs like NSD Chester and Autism Service Dog Max, Therapy Dogs like Bocker Labradoodle,  Parker Pup, Gizmo and many others, as well as the Rescues turned Rescuers like Indica.
