This Thursday we are thankful for all the Dog Heroes who Save and Enrich Lives.
We met Katrina and her 2 beautiful dogs Indica and Satori at Woofstock. She told us the very touching story of how her talented rescue dog Indica saved her life. Katrina is diabetic and could have gone into a diabetic coma if her wonderful dog had not alerted her and got help. The rescue became the rescuer.
We also celebrated another brave rescue Snickers who became a rescuer and saved his owner in a medical emergency, as well as three other life savers Bella, Vicious, and Teak at the Purina Animal Hall of Fame.

We have also been voting for our new Twitter friends on The American Humane Society 2013 Hero Dog Awards . This annual national competition searches out and recognizes America’s Hero Dogs, who unconditionally avail themselves to us in so many important ways, whether it’s saving lives on the battlefield, lending sight or hearing to a human companion, providing therapeutic support to children suffering from cancer, or just greeting us with a wagging tail at the end of a hard day. Dog Guides Canada and NSD Dogs Save and Enrich Lives every day see our articles and videos. They are now training service dogs to help save the lives of people with a range of medical conditions, as some amazing dogs seem to be able to alert to seizures or changes in body chemistry.
