Adopt A Pet, Foster, Volunteer or Donate this Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to feel gratitude and to do something for others less fortunate.
What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? I am thankful for my family and friends. I am thankful to be able to work at what I love. I am thankful for the chance to foster my adorable little black rescue pug Kilo. He makes me feel special every day when he gives me his pug hugs and kisses. He is usually so happy to see me, his whole body shakes and his little tail wags. He entertains me with his antics, he tries to please me as long as I have treats and he gets me out for a walk at least five times a day. He does not yet know how to work the remote. He loves food, massages and sleeping late like me. He enjoys snuggling with me on the couch at night.
Kilo gives thanks to Homeward Bound Rescue and to all the people helping and loving him.
If you would like to help, check out an animal rescue site like Petfinder or Homeward Bound or one of the many listed on our site. Or visit your local animal shelter or Humane Society. If you are able to take in a new family member, please do your research about different dog breeds. If you can not adopt, consider fostering. Or volunteer, donate or even shop to help – AdoptAShelter.com, and certain other groups or retailers donate a portion of sales to Rescues.
We donate a portion of any revenue from our YouTube videos (usually 40%) to different dog causes including rescues and service dogs. Please subscribe to our channel Watch our wonderful dog videos and donate through views.
For fun, try our new Breed Quiz and find out your perfect pal. Lucky for Kilo, I got Party Pug.
Happy Wordless Wednesday and Thanksgiving!
Kilo is adorable!!!!
I like the YouTube donation concept, how do I find out more about it?
Thanks- you don’t have to do anything but watch the videos. We get a small amount of revenue from ads on our channel. We contribute most of that to dog causes. We also give $1.00 per new subscriber during different months rather than spend that on advertising. For example we have given $50+ to Kilo’s rescue with more coming, we will be donating $75+ to Bocker’s charity of choice Animal Aid in December, and we have donated $ to NSD and Dog Guides. The more views, the more $ we donate.
We would have given more but we only just set up the ad revenue properly a few weeks ago.
Great reminder to give back! Kilo is so cute!
Thanks. He is a cutie. He is snoring at my feet right now. XS
I agree. Thanksgiving is a great time to think about what we have to be thankful for and about ways that we can help others, including animals in shelters. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
You too Rachele! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and be safe.
I hope Kilo finds a good home soon. I’m sure he appreciate the foster home you are providing for him. He’s a real cutie. I like your You Tube donation plan. Subscribing now.
Wonderful thank you Sharon. Kilo is adorable but he has a few issues we are working really hard on. If he continues to make good progress, I hope I can convince my family to let me adopt him. XS

Yay! Thankful for family this season! You’re a good boy, Kilo! *wags*
Very cool that watching the videos helps with donations! Thanks for everything you do for the pups! (Kilo is SO cute!)
I love the picture of Kilo and the pumpkin. He is such a cutie!
I have been truly bubbling over with gratitude for all I have and you are right that such a time is the perfect moment to give back. Thanks for the reminder and the great ideas to help pets!
What an adorable Pug he is! I wish I wasn’t at my limit with dogs …
I got the Chilled-Out Big Boss British Bulldog on the test 🙂 I’m really nervous about the event I’m helping with tomorrow – our local shelter is having a Black Saturday Adoption Event. All cats and kittens over 6 months are FREE and dogs are 90% off. I’m nervous because it’s either going to be a chaotic mess OR I’ll end up really disappointed if we don’t get many adopters in the door. We shall see, I’m certainly hoping for the best.
I agree about thinking about donating this time of year; you can help so much just by dropping off some towels, blankets, cleaning supplies. Shelters are always in need of so many various supplies. If you don’t have extra time to spare you can probably find some stuff laying around the house that could be put to good use 🙂
Great you mention that. I did that for a Cambridge Ont Shelter. Bullwrinkles and I donated treats, garbage bags, cleaning supplies, towels etc from factory and Home Depot I bought. So useful.
Where is your event? All the best- hope it went well.
