ARF or The Animal Rescue Foundation of Ontario, works with First Nations and Rural communities in Ontario to rescue, rehab, and re-home stray dogs and cats. They are 100% volunteer run and foster home based and receive no government grants, operating completely on donations from fellow animal lovers. They aim to implement accessible, affordable spay/neuter surgeries for adult companion animals, to reduce the overall number of strays needing to be rescued and  to educate the public on the benefits of positive training techniques. They also support Bite Prevention Campaigns, helping to keep families and animals safe.
Pawlooza is a 100% volunteer-driven festival that is the ultimate dog party! Join an estimated 25,000 people and 6,000 dogs for a unique dog-friendly festival experience in London Ontario.Pawlooza also features over 50 animal welfare and rescue groups making it North America’s largest one-day gathering of animal rescue groups.Thousands of hours are put into the festival by the Organizing Committee and 300 volunteers led by the amazing teams at ARF and LEADS Employment Services – helping people with disabilities throughout Southwestern Ontario find employment and skill training. All Proceeds go to charity.
“Pawlooza is about unity, inclusion, positive thinking, and showing us all what a staggering amount of goodness can come from working together for homeless pets…a day that celebrates our canine companions and all they bring to our lives.” says Laurie Ristmae, founder of ARF Ontario.
Every rescue organization attending will also be taking home a goody bag full of yummy treats thanks to Bullwrinkles / Barnsdale Farms. Everybody loves free treats!

The International Society of Animal Rights (ISAR) began National Homeless Animals’ Day in 1992, to help bring more attention to America’s pet overpopulation. In honour of International Homeless Animals’ Day, Pawlooza has partnered with animal rescue groups from across Canada to raise awareness across our country! The day celebrates the world coming together to raise awareness about the pet overpopulation epidemic.
