Petcurean is a family owned and operated Canadian business. I met them down at Global Pet Expo and loved the look and sound of their products.
They very kindly sent Kilo the Pug some NOW kibble and stew to try. You can see our review here. He loved the taste and I loved the ingredients.
This year, they sent us four brand new GO! Solutions functional, freeze-dried meal mixers to try. What a wonderful treat as I love adding a little topper to Kilo’s kibble dinner and it is handy to have freeze dried if I do not have homemade available.
Apparently more than a quarter of pet owners customize their dog’s diet and add mixers or toppers to their dog’s diet like I do. The GO! Meal Mixers can be added to kibble, stew, or pâté, or served as a convenient and healthy treat.
“The decision to expand our popular GO! line with functional meal mixers was driven by explosive growth in the meal mixer category, and the increasing need for solution-based pet foods,” said Jaimie Turkington, VP of Sales and Marketing at Petcurean. “Further demonstrating our commitment to innovation, the GO! Meal Mixer line is a direct response to consumers’ increasing request for premium products tailored to their pet’s specific needs.”
The GO! Solutions Meal Mixer Line
The GO! Solutions Meal Mixer line features four specialized recipes for dogs: Digestive Health Turkey Meal Mixer, Hip & Joint Support Pork Meal Mixer, Skin & Coat Care Salmon Meal Mixer, and Weight Control Turkey Meal Mixer.
Each recipe is made with freeze-dried nutritional and functional ingredients including single source primary proteins and whole fruits and veggies that you can really see which I like. Kilo is not picky and absolutely LOVED each of the mixers but even picky-eater pets can’t resist the tasty chunks of freeze-dried pork, turkey, salmon, whole cranberries and blueberries, New Zealand green mussels, and bits of pumpkin.
They are aiming to help dog parents seeking specialized solutions to help support common pet health issues. From achy joints and tender tummies, to itchy skin and that spare tire around the middle, GO! Solutions Meal Mixers add a functional boost of nutrition to aid in supporting many of these common issues.
GO! Meal Mixers for Dogs Recipes
The GO! Meal Mixers for dogs are available in four recipes:
- GO! DIGESTIVE HEALTH Turkey Meal Mixer: De-boned turkey with pumpkin, probiotics and pre-biotic fiber from chicory root to support the maintenance of healthy gut bacteria. Pumpkin is a great source of dietary fiber, and prebiotic fiber acts as food for probiotics (good gut bacteria). I will definitely get this one again as we are big turkey and pumpkin fans.
- GO! HIP + JOINT SUPPORT Pork Meal Mixer: De-boned pork with glucosamine, chondroitin, turmeric, and New Zealand green mussels work together to help maintain healthy joints. New Zealand green mussels are a natural source of chondroitin and omega-3 fatty acids, which, along with turmeric, provide anti-inflammatory properties and really help keep the joints lubricated and pain-free. Kilo has not shown any signs of joint pain yet but prevention is good and I might need to try this formula myself.
- GO! SKIN + COAT CARE Salmon Meal Mixer: De-boned salmon and salmon skin provide omega-3 fatty acids to aid healthy skin and a shiny coat. For dogs that have dandruff or itchy skin, it should really help take that itch and dandruff away, and give them beautiful soft shiny fur. Kilo already has soft shiny hair and no problem spots so far so I did not notice a difference.
- GO! WEIGHT CONTROL Turkey Meal Mixer: De-boned turkey combined with psyllium husk provide a sense of tummy fullness. The way to think of psyllium husk, it’s like bran buds. When you add water to them, they expand, so when the dog eats the turkey and psyllium husk, it expands in their tummy and they’re usually less inclined to overeat. Kilo is rather greedy and should lose 1 kilo so I really appreciated this one.
The freeze-drying process locks in maximum nutrition by removing water from fresh meats, fruits, and veggies through a vacuum process that gently turns liquid into vapour, thus maintaining the nutritional integrity of each ingredient. The process may be technical, but the effect is pure and simple: concentrated, functional nutrition.
As with many of Petcurean’s other GO! recipes, the new Meal Mixer recipes are free of grains and gluten, and have zero corn, wheat, soy, by-products, added growth hormones, antibiotics, artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
